Rafael Ramirez. PhD, MSc, BSc. Tenured Associate Professor and Leader of the Music and Machine Learning Lab at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. BSc in Mathematics form the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and MSc and PhD in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the University of Bristol, UK. For five years, he was a Lecturer in the National University of Singapore. His research interests include music technology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their application to cognition, learning, creative processes, well-being. He has published more than 100 research articles in peer-reviewed international Journals and Conferences. He currently acts as chair and program committee member for several music technology related conferences.

PI of the TELMI project. Leads UPF’s contribution on audio processing and analysis, gesture analysis, real-time feedback systems, and ML-based multimodal data analysis.
