George Waddell

George Waddell is Research Associate in Performance Science at the Royal College of Music, where he is currently completing his PhD as an RCM Scholar. His research focusses on the processes underpinning performance assessment, examining musical decision-making among judges and audiences and the development of evaluative skills. He lectures on experimental design, statistical analysis, and psychological aspects of creativity and evaluation in music performance.

George completed his BMus and MMus in piano performance at Brandon University (Canada) while completing courses in psychology. He was awarded the Brandon University Gold Medal for the Master of Music Degree, was a recipient of the Manitoba Graduate Scholarship, and holds an ARCT Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Research Associate on the RCM contribution to the TELMI project, coordinating and executing the research design, data collection, and analysis.
